Association of Event Venues latest Corporate Member to join the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events

10 April 2025, Westminster, London: The Association of Event Venues (AEV) has become the latest organisation to join the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events (APPG) as a corporate member.

The AEV joins other leading brands from across the UK’s business events sector, including beam, SEC, Racoon Media, Experience Oxfordshire, Togather and Hire Association Europe, as corporate members of the APPG.

A spokesperson for the APPG said: “We are delighted to have the AEV join our other corporate members as we continue to expand our voice and reach across Parliament and Westminster. There has never been a more important time for the events sector to engage with parliamentarians from across the political spectrum, to build a much stronger relationship and help unlock the potential of the UK events economy. We would encourage other organisations to join the AEV in working with the APPG to help move the event industry’s agenda forward.”

The first official APPG event of the new term will see corporate members and other senior leaders join parliamentary members at a private dinner in the House of Commons on 06 May 2025. Other events are currently being planned throughout the year, including the formal launch of the APPG’s official Parliamentary Plan of Work.

Rachel Parker, Director at the AEV, said: “I’m thrilled to have joined the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events.  This is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders and policymakers to raise awareness of the UK events sector in Westminster.  Being part of this group allows us to advocate for the needs of our industry, share best practices, and help shape a more supportive policy environment for events.  I’m excited for the journey ahead and the impact we can make together.”

The APPG, which is Chaired by Shaun Davies, Member of Parliament for Telford, now has a total of 41 members, including 34 Parliamentarians and seven corporate members.

PR & Communications agency, Davies Tanner, through it’s The Business of Events Think Tank and Advocacy Network, manages the APPG, and acts as a Special Advisor to the group.

Further information on private sector memberships can be found via the APPG website at www.appgevents.com

  • The events industry is only as good as the sum of its parts – the EIA represents all parts of our amazing industry. We are members because together we are so much stronger and are therefore so much better placed to deal with both our challenges and the massive opportunities that lie ahead.

  • The EIA serves as the quintessential industry forum and working group representing the cornerstones critical to all events; the organiser, the venue and the supply chain providing goods and services to the sector. Whilst it’s always been a valuable alliance for the industry, in these times of post-pandemic economic uncertainty and geo-political challenges, the ability for the industry to convene, confer and communicate as a unified sector is imperative as we seek to grow and have an even greater impact on the UK’s social and economic landscape.

  • The EIA is a great forum for collaboration between three of the major UK business events associations. It’s so important as an industry that we speak with one voice, that we collaborate on the biggest issues that we face and that we build mutual understanding and respect. The EIA provides the opportunity to do all of these things and is a made more powerful by all of our contributions.
